UPDATE:  Spirit's pins have been removed and he can walk and run really well on 3 legs.  His front paw still has nerve damage, but he does use the leg when he wants to.  He is being adopted by his foster family. 

UPDATE:  Spirit has had surgery on both legs, and is in a foster home.  He is walking on both legs, but not using his front paw.  He will go in again in about a week for the pins to be adjusted. 

When Spirit came in":  Spirit is a cute little 4 1/2 month old baby.  He was found lying by the road, with two broken legs.   One front leg has 2 breaks, and his rear leg also has 2 breaks.   No one has claimed him.  Our vet thinks he may have fallen out of a pickup truck.  He has had his legs pinned, and is wearing external braces, and looks like he'll recover.    The next 6 weeks (about Feb. 1) will tell us how he'll be.
